The Trials and Tribulations of Takeshi
Sep. 6th, 2005 06:40 amApologies for my protracted silence, but I 'spose we'd all better get used to it. I'm settling in now, which means things are becoming more and more "normal", and I'm diving for the little folded bit of scribbling-paper in my purse less often. From here on out, it'll be more specific anecdotes and less overviews of my days. On the bright side, this probably means my entries will become less rambly and more interesting.
I hope. ^_^;;
My host family is a kick. Everyone in the JSP groups knows who they are, because the younger one, five-year-old Chihiro, spent the welcome and opening ceremony on Saturday joggling in his chair, giggling, making faces at the double row of exchange students at the front of the room, and motioning eagerly for me to hurry up and come to the table. When the first, somewhat long-winded speaker finished and the second one stepped up, Chihiro's tiny, irritated voice piped up into the moment of silence, "Mata sensei?!" ("Another one?!")
( In which I am thoroughly showered with love. )
